This is my first attempt at blogging, so here goes nothing. This has been a very eventful year...and it is only getting better. November of 06 my husband leaves his job in which he only had 31/2 years till retirement to enter into full-time ministry. We have a daughter in her first year of college and we have no job on the horizon! But my God is a big God! NOT only did we find a wonderful church that hired Wayne and has just blessed our socks off but we also got debt-free, Lyndsey stayed in college and got my scholarships, and been blessed beyond words! Our church (which on our first Sunday had 8 members) is now running somewhere around 60-70 people and very much still growing! We have had some wonderful times...Our dear friend Tony was diagnosed with liver cancer and given 6-18 months to live is now cancer free!!!! His doctors are still trying to figure that one out ( they don't know just how big Our God is!!). When we got to UPBC there was one youth, we now have appox. 15-20 on average, Lyndsey is our summer youth intern and doing a wonderful job! Our son, David is just growing so much in his faith and is really bringing his friends to church! Wayne's preaching is really amazing (he did not grow up in church and came to know the Lord while in bootcamp) it still just amazes me to see how much God has done in his life!!!!
We have also had some sad times this year...we lost Wayne's sister to cancer in November and his dad in February. But the amazing thing about his dad is that at the age of 71 he finally gave his life to Christ! We are now taking care of his mother and trying to help my parents! It really stinks to have to be the parents to your parents ( my kids have forbidden us to grow old).
Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to walk in this ministry that God has so blessed us with!
If you are looking for a "real" church then just drop by anytime, we will love on you like you've never been loved on before and in my opinion it is one of the realist churches around! We are just plain folk trying to do the Lord's work and share the good news with everyone!
May God bless you in everything that you do and never forget to look for all the wonderful gifts He gives you everyday!
